OSHA confined space entry standards for general industry 1910.146 and their new confined spaces for construction standard 1926 Subpart AA require companies and organizations to implement a confined space entry program if their employees will enter permit-required confined spaces. The management team must understand the hazards of confined spaces, what air monitoring may be required and how to maintain the equipment used, the interoperation of lockout/tagout with confined space safety and hazard posting requirements. The manager must be sensitive to the potential entrant’s psychological responses to confined space work, and the need to develop policy that encourages honest communication regarding fear of entry.
Request a Quick QuoteBased on OSHA 1910.146 & 1926 Subpart AA, this course will prepare learners to competently administer a training for supervisors, managers, and workers who may need to enter a ‘permit required’ confined space or monitor the safety of workers entering those spaces. It is designed to assist them in understanding OSHA requirements, creating and administering the program to assure worker safety and managing the program once it is in place. The information delivered will be customized to meet the work duties, safety equipment and company policies at your facility. It includes how to assess confined spaces and properly document the results, determination of “permit required” confined spaces, examination of methods of making the space safe to enter so that a permit is not necessary, establishment of a permitting program and continuing assessment and improvement strategies.
After completing this lesson, participants will be able to:
NOTE: Training for this course does not involve an actual entry of a confined space or simulated response to an emergency, unless otherwise arranged. This is not a class in rescue techniques.
After completion of this course, students will receive a Certificate of Completion and .1 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) for each hour of class.
All training certificates will be stored by Martin Technical for future reference, validation and 3rd party documentation.
