Students will gain an understanding of Lockout codes, requirements, and best practices, and will leave with an understanding of the power of performing lockout the right way vs. the wrong way.
Based on OSHA 1910.147, ANSI Z244.1 and Industry Best Practices, the class provides in depth knowledge of the core requirements for conducting authorized training, as well as implementing your company codes and standards.
A professional Lockout Trainer from Martin Technical will guide the trainees on the key points of the program, supporting materials, and answer all the questions of the students. Interactive exercises are included to help students think through real-world situations of hazardous energy. Training is customized to meet any of your particular policies, equipment or other program requirements so students get more than an off-the-shelf program.
The Martin Technical approach to Lockout Training is more than just information attendees about the lockout codes and standards. Our goal is to improve the thought process of lockout / control of hazardous energy sources of the workforce so that they understand the core of lockout safety and when and how to properly apply it.

Safety Qualified™ field observation and demonstration of knowledge includes taking students to equipment in the field to validate what they have learned. Students will be asked to identify all the hazardous energies on a machine, stored pressure sources and the proper way to shut down the machine, including using or filling out any permits or paperwork. Equipment will not be physically shut-down and locked-out, but rather going through the steps on paper.
Field observation can also include proper selection and use of lockout devices or other tasks as needed.
In addition to or as a substitution for field observations, the Martin Technical Hands-on Lockout Tagout Training Kit can be used for observation and demonstration in the classroom.
After completion of this course, students will receive a Certificate of Completion and .1 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) for each hour of class.
All training certificates will be stored by Martin Technical for future reference, validation and 3rd party documentation.
After completion of this course, students will receive a Lockout Tagout Safety Qualified Hard Hat Sticker as an important safety reminder to lockout / tagout.
